SuperWebGuy.com just moved in.

SuperWebGuy.com has moved in to my house.

My business site now points to an enhanced web design portfolio page on my personal site.

(This is what it looked like before.)

old swg

The old site had it’s own look. It wasn’t bad. Had some things that I wanted to change:

  • Needed a blog. But the blog was here.
  • Needed more pages. Here they are.
  • Needed to have more traditional navigation. Well okay here it is.

And really, all I think about is web design – ha – so even my personal site has really always been about business.

The domain remains. Keep using it if you like. Otherwise, it’s davidvanvickle.com/design now.

What do you think? I want to know!

Stoneybrooke.com redesign 2009

SuperWebGuy is happy to announce the completed 2009 redesign of stoneybrooke.com.

Stoneybrooke.com Redesign 2009

It has a fresh new look and lots more content flexibility thanks to a new custom CMS.

Search feature

The most obvious new feature is the powerful and prominent search field. It delivers immediate on-page results as the user types and is integrated into every page. To speed up the browsing experience, the results sidebar stays open as the user clicks thru the results. When the best result is found, the results sidebar can be closed so visitors can focus on what they came for.

The main menu has been simplified to only seven items. The previous sub menu links now appear in the sidebar when visiting one of the primary pages.

Cartooned myself

I used to draw a lot.  Unfortunately it’s all too rare these days.   When I do, it’s exciting, but always a little like starting over again.

Today I put Wacom pen to tablet again.  I thought the results were sharable.  It is a cartoon of myself as my alter ego for his website.

I didn’t bother removing the beer belly; I think it adds character.

Included a couple of the early stages as well.  That way, if you think the end product is bad, at least you know at some point it was even worse.
